Esquimalt Lantern Festival

About ELF
The Esquimalt Lantern Festival was a regular event for a number of years, and after a few year’s hiatus it was resurrected in 2009 to great success.

Over the past 3 festivals, hundreds of school children and residents built their own lanterns at workshops held at Macaulay Elementary, the local library, the Esquimalt Market and at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre.

About 2,000 citizens participated in the events held at Capt. Jacobson’s Park on September 24, 2011. Attendees took part in a lantern walk along the West Bay Walkway, winding along a lantern lit path to Barnard Park, then returning back to Capt. Jacobson’s where they enjoyed lantern installations, local live music and entertainment. Cultural / Heritage >> Ethnic/Multi-Cultural Festival or Celebration
