About

Naxx Bitota

Instruments: Vocals details
Born under Le Soleil in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Naxx discovered her passion for music at the age of 9 and dreamed of making a career out of it. She pursues this dream by joining several choirs of different styles: gospel, traditional, classical, folk in the Congo and then in Belgium.

She crossed the Atlantic as a teenager to first settle in Belgium, then in Quebec in 2008, always with the firm intention of continuing to express her immense creative talent.

Author, composer and performer, Naxx is greatly influenced by classical music but also by popular music from her childhood, notably Mutuashi and Congolese Rumba. She shows through her compositions, her passion and her commitment to create around the different rhythms encountered in Africa.

Thanks to her artistic generosity, her extraordinary energy, her passion for singing, but above all her very personal sound, she performs on several local and international stages. Committed but very festive, she pursues her inspiration in her high quality « Mutuashi-Rumba-Sebene » style.

In the spring of 2018, she participated in the series « Rhythms for women » by Productions Nuits d'Afrique. In 2020, it offers a series of four live concerts paying tribute to Central Africa, including a colorful recording made at Club Balattou as part of the special edition of the Festival International Nuits d'Afrique.

Having reached a certain artistic maturity, on June 30, 2022, Naxx released its first album Kuetu, « chez nous » in Tshiluba; that you will find on all online music platforms.

Much appreciated after the success of his first single Poso Oyo, mixing reggae and Mutuashi and Nimekua, pure Congolese Rumba, this album, mixing Congo rhythms and refreshing Afropop, evokes deep subjects: racism, living together, but also that the experiences and stages of life, happy or not, that make us grow.

At the crossroads of Miriam Makeba and Whitney Houston, Naxx Bitota always finds this way of bringing together and paying tribute to the different regions of Africa. An unfailing commitment that can be found powerfully throughout his career.
