Bio: Hello, my name is Dave and I come from a "musical family". My Dad, Mike, was a working jazz drummer in Victoria for many years. I play all styles of music including Jazz, Rock, Blues, Country, Latin and Funk. I am a very experienced drummer. Over the last 25 years I have been playing regularly in working/performing bands. Bands I have played with include:
-Ricochet ( Heavy Rock)
-Joyce and the Blades (Rock)
-Four (Jazz Standards)
-Panorama Jazz Quartet (Jazz Standards)
-Wharf Street Band (Blues and Classic Rock)
-Pacific Standard Time (Jazz Band)
-Lindsay Barber Quartet (Vocal-Oriented Jazz)
-Groovin' Hard Big Band (Big Band Jazz)
-Russell in the Bushes (80's Rock)
-Soul Source R & B band. (R & B, Soul, Motown etc.)
-Frayed Knots (Blues)
-Swingit/Jazz Houndz (Progressive Jazz, Funk and Pop)
-Seacruze (Rock, Pop, Country, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Latin etc.)
-Blues Hawks- (Blues and Elvis)
-The Hung Jury (Funk, Soul, Rock, Modern Pop)
-Price Tag/ Tune Raiders (Contemporary Pop and Classic Rock)
Goals: Currently taking a break but may be looking to join other projects that have potential.
Influences: Rush, Emerson Lake and Palmer, 70s-80s Rock, 60's Psychedelic Rock, 50's -60s Jazz artists, 80s New Wave, Latin Jazz.
Drummers I admire: Neil Peart, Carl Palmer, Mark Brzezicki, Richard Bailey, Tony Williams, Art Blakey, Dave Weckl, Philly Joe Jones, Papa Joe Jones, Elvin Jones and Max Roach to name just a few. So many good drummers out there.
