Event Description

. Saturday, August 11th IMU presents The FURIOS w/ The ELIXXXERS & The ARBUTUS TRIO @ The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island (1585 Johnston St.) . 9pm / $10 - Purchase advance tickets online at http://www.imuproductions.com/tix

The FURIOS deliver an irresistible blend of ska, reggae, and catchy punk with solid, memorable vocals and empowering, danceable anthems that range from head bobbin' slow skanks to all out, full throttle, pedal-to-the-metal ska romps. Featuring a three piece horn section complemented by distinct songwriters and vocalists, The Furios shine the brightest when seen and heard live. The six piece band rocks, jumps, bumps and dances through set after set creating a party atmosphere that has made them a favorite with audiences. With 11 Canadian tours under their belt and dates on last year's Vans Warped Tour, The Furios have shared stages with The Real McKenzies, Fishbone, Bedouin Soundclash, The Planet Smashers, DOA, The Smugglers and many others.

The ELIXXXERS - A dash of Rockabilly, a pinch of Punk, and a shake of Ska - blend it with pop/rock and you have an elixir that people want a taste of. Heat it on high with Bobbi-Jo's racy lyrics, Chris' violating bass lines, and Dave's delectable drumming and you have The Elixxxirs – the trio that has audiences screaming for MORE! It’s all about feeling good, having fun, and doing whatever you want when this band burns up the stage.

The ARBUTUS TRIO is a trio founded by three ever changing members who love playing, touring and all that is music. Steeped in folk-ridden reggae dub, the band's shifted into a more well-paced heart-wrenching, gut-throbbing, shout-along blasting punk style, which makes for an intense experience for all folks on the dance floor!
