. Friday, December 7th I.M.U. presents UNKNOWN SOLDIERS w/ BLACK MONDO GRASS & LAND (formerly The FILIGREES) @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir Street . Doors 9pm / $10 Cover at the door

The UNKNOWN SOLDIERS come amazingly close to replicating the music of THE DOORS note for note while capturing their raw energy through each band member's interpretation, combining to deliver a groovy reproduction of a live Doors show that keeps audiences in a head-bobbing, toe-tapping trance. Although it is hard to replicate the eccentric unpredictability that was Jim Morrison, their singer's Morrisonesque look, vibe and baritone voice combine with swirling organs and deft musicianship to captivate and transcend time and place, allowing audiences to be transported back in time to experience a taste of live shows that are now a part of rock mythology. http://www.theunknownsoldiers.net

BLACK MONDO GRASS is one of the newest and most rocking live bands on the Vancouver scene today. An all-original band who strives to bring back the true meaning of rock 'n' roll, they deliver 70's-inflected modern hard rock that will have you shakin' your ass to their driving, bluesy tunes. LAND (formerly THE FILIGREES) - This 2 man blues-driven rock and roll band focuses on tightly-crafted feel good music, strongly rooted in the spontaneity of the jam. Influenced by Neil Young, Kings of Leon and the Rolling Stones, the band has been favourably compared to Cream and the Black Keys, and promises to blow the roof off with their original blend of rockin' bluegrass heart and soul.
