Victoria's 11th Annual Ska Festival Reggae Extravaganza will make history again for Canada's music scene. For the 1st time in Canada New Zealand's KATCHAFIRE will be making their debut performance at the festival. KATCHAFIRE are among the most celebrated reggae bands in New Zealand. The all Maori reggae big band have played at major festivals all around the world and we can't wait to have them come and play outdoors for the festival.

Shane Philip is a multi-talented individual that is the Island's didge specialist. Shane Philip is a crowd favourite all around Western Canada. He blends in with so many different audiences playing with acts such as Rootz Underground from Jamaica to Canadian rock icons such as Colin James. He will be joined by one of Victoria's most talented jazz/folk musicians - Marc Atkinson who is also known for his involvement in his group "Marc Atkinson Trio" To round out the Shane Philip Tree, Joby Baker - known for his masterful production skills will round out the ensemble. This is a first time look at The Shane Philip Tree and we hope you will appreciate being introduced to an ensemble we may be watching and hearing for years to come!

And finally from Victoria/Sunshine Coast - Mindil Beach Markets will join both aforementioned acts on this bill. Mindil Beach Markets have been busy producing a new album that will be released around the time of the festival. Their brand of reggae, rock will be sure to get you pumped for the rest of the show!
