Event Description

Sunset Labs & The Labyrinth Proudly Present!

THE LABYRINTH EXPERIENCE ::.
an immersive environment of art, music & dance!
----------------------------------------------------------

Anyone who has been to Shambhala knows that the Labyrinth is sacred. From the moment of the collaborative opening ceremony to the depths of a driving Sunday night the space is charged with such beauty, colour & intention that it has long stood out amongst west coast festival dance experiences. For many, amidst the invited chaos of a major festival like Shambhala, the Lab is a home away from home and a sanctum for the spirit & the body, not to mention home to some of the most brilliant trance, psy trance, worldbeat & progressive artists anywhere to be found.

Sunset & The Labyrinth have in common a shared intention to create magical dance experiences, build community through music, and celebrate the artistic side of our culture. It is within these shared intentions that have partnered up to bring you The Labyrinth Experience, a high-production microcosm of that energy & creation the Lab is so known for!

Sunset Room is now one of the official global tour stops for the huge list of world-class artists that Labyrinth works with and creates residencies for worldwide! We've been told to expect a diversity & sophistication of music rarely encountered outside of a major festival.

Our night features live art, a vendors market, fire spinning & hooping, blacklight magic, epic visuals, face & bodypainting and some of the most amazing trance, psytrance, worldbeat and progressive you could hope for.

Welcome to The Labyrinth Experience!

DJ SASQUATCH :: The Lab Experience, Sonic Turtle | Turtle Island
http://www.deliria.org/ | http://soundcloud.com/dj-sasquatch-1
In the early 90s Sasquatch spent 5 years attending all sorts of underground electronic venues pumping various genres in as many as 30 countries covering 4 continents. In 1993-2000 he learned music production during a series of tours thru India, Thailand, Isreal, and Europe with members of Spiral Tribe, Circus Warp, Invisible Circus and others, which put him on the travelling side of prog & psy trance, with the Ibiza experience as a base to stage all this on. After a few summers of festivals and then a new experience called "pARTy" on Ibiza which showed Sasquatch the power and diversity of the psychadelic sound and the unity of the worldwide trance tribe, he was hooked for life. The latter part of 2001 saw Gary involved with a few promoters in New Zealand, Australie & Asia concentrating on various outside projects including Cafe Del Mar, Sa Trincha and Khummharras, all on Ibiza, which explored electronic music crossed with latin music, an adaptation very invigorating to the local festival scene. The Quatch found himself working for numerous artists including Front 242, Frontline Assembly, Uzumaki, Infected Mushroom and Shpongle on everything from recording sessions, house remixes & psychedelic/prog trance projects, to festivals with Matt Coldrick, The Brand New Heavies, Sven Vath, Daft Punk & others. 2005 saw a return to his trance roots playing new material being recorded for various labels including Israel trance giants BNE, TIP World Records, Solstice and Twisted Mandala, and a host of summer festival appearances were beginning to bloom accross North America including Burning Man, Sasquatch, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Symbiosis, Sonic Bloom, W.M.C., Enthoes, Astral Harvest, Motion Notion and others! 2009 saw Sasquatch complete a DJ tour of Mexico, Costa Rica and other Central American countries. This tour pushed the already established trance scene there to even dizzier heights, and also gave him the chance to re-visit his passion of playing out deep, squelchy techno & tech house, as well as his already defined Psy/Prog Trance sets. And now, years later, he has now played alongside Goa Gill, Ott, Infected Mushroom, Sphongle, Pixel, Joti Sidhu, Astrix, Astral Projection, Rapt, DJ Isis, Tycon, Logic Bomb, Tripswitch and more more more. And so to this year! Dj Sasquatch 2012 see's it all true to form - the question is ....you seen him¿¿

BLUE LUNAR MONKEY :: The Labyrinth Experience, Maia Records | Mexico
www.myspace.com/synergeticrecords
Daniel started to play keyboards and guitar at the age of 13 and became part of the band Naranja Mecanica, wich was the first mexican band signed by Universal Music in Mexico and released an LP named Superstrip in 1997. After studying Sitar and Nada Yoga (The Yoga of Sound) in India he started to experiment with trance and ambience in 1998, beside teaching Yoga and Surfing in the beautiful mexican pacific coast. Blue Lunar Monkey is the day Daniel was born on the Mayan calendar, Kin 171. The music of BLM is as magic as the project name: Floating grooves, atmospheric landscapes, divine melodies and universal feelings of Oneness come together in each song and construct a full Rainbow of music and Endless possibilities are combined to a sound candy for those magic moments in life. Each track is made with the best intention, and works on the different Chakras or energy centers through the Spine. With his music Daniel aims to catalyse an internal movement of consciousness and to help realize the amazing beauty of this dream we call reality.

DJ DOMINO :: The Labyrinth Experience, Avatar Records | UK, Goa
http://soundcloud.com/dj-domino |
DJ Domino is one of the first female trance DJs to be recognized all over the world. Her dynamic, energetic DJ style is filled with beautiful melodies which gets her into a trance dance herself while playing. She has an innate ability to create a mysterious atmosphere while bringing people together on the dance floor. Domino was born in England in 1972, and raised in Goa, India. Goa is the spiritual origin of trance music & people from all over the world have gone to Goa seeking creativity and freedom in every way, some finding their inner selves, some simply to dance to trance music in the stunning nature. Naturally, Domino was influenced at a very young age by all kinds of electronic music like Front 242, Yellow, The The, Kraftwork, Nitzer Ebb and others. Domino decided to become a DJ at the age of eighteen. She began collecting all kinds of music like Voodoo People, Juno Reactor, Hallucinogen, Eat Static and Resistance D. Eventually, Mike Maguire from Juno Reactor heard Domino play in Goa and was astonished. In 1991, Domino ended up in England as a dance performer for Eat Static at the famous Brixton Academy and other clubs. After performing a couple of times for Eat Static, Domino kept Djing and Maguire gave her an incredible opportunity. 1995 was Domino's overseas DJ debut in England with Juno Reactor. She was the opening DJ for the event and used her walkman at the time. She got such an amazing feedback from the crowd they decided to tour together for the year in England, France and Greece. In 1996, DJ Domino played Japan for the first time at an Equinox sponsored party - at first people didn't know what to expect from a female DJ but the music began to swell, the crowd started to roar and people danced, their hearts pounding. Since that time the Japanese people and culture have captured Domino's heart. In 1997 DJ Domino's first mix CD, EQ001, was released from Equinox in Japan. Since then, she has been playing all over the world in Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Holland, India, Israel, Japan, Portugal, Spain (Ibiza) and across the US. DJ Domino has also played major fests like Antaris (Germany), Boom festival (Portugal) and Equinox (Japan). Domino also wanted to give more opportunities and confidence to other female artists and DJs in the art scene so she created a new project with other female organizers involving only female artists, VJs, decoration and PA. Since then she has organized three female events, all of them huge successes. This has not only given female artists confidence but also shown people there is something more important, which is LOVE, and so we have a woman brought up in the so-called "sacred place of trance music" who is now giving full energy, strength and love back to the world.

ENTELECHY ::.
Returning Saturn | Victoria
Entelechy describes a vital agent or force which helps direct an organism toward self-fulfillment. From this realm of sonic self-exploration, Entelechy weaves soundscapes ranging from fully ambient and downtempo, thru hip-hop, glitch, breaks, psytrance, trance fusions, and back again. With a background in music theory, composition, arrangement, production and performance, he seeks rich environmental textures as a cornerstone to the myriad sounds and styles telling the stories of our own becoming(s). In a world where the main.stream is clogged up by cash money radio's river of commercialized beat-structures, Entlechy knows the audiophonic evolution of intentional dance music is a key to the freeflow of conciousness and to our evolving relationships to the planet and each other...
