Event Description

Deletist Entertainment presents:
Immaculate Machine with David Chenery & The Lonesome Valley Singers

Thurs Nov. 11th @ The Well (3333 University Way)

About Immaculate Machine
Victoria, BC indie-pop trio Immaculate Machine is acclaimed for its engaging live show as well as for its songwriting. Inspired by sweat, dancing, love, and political dissent; they sing in three-part harmonies and strangled shouts above crashing drums, catchy keyboard lines and electric guitar. Rotating lead vocals and songwriting contributions from all three members result in a style that is truly hard to pin down.

In May 2004, they set off on their second Canadian tour, this time to promote the independent release of “Transporter”, their debut full-length album. Recently completing the tour, the trio has made an impact across Canada engaging legions of new fans and climbing Campus radio charts left and right.

About David Chenery
David Chenery grew up with cop stories and small town rumours of murder. In his late teens, he began to adapt sixties pop songs by groups like the Box tops, The Zombies and Lulu into screeching, obnoxious punk-rock, causing bar regulars to throw beer bottles and bar managers to cry. By the age of twenty-three, he felt it was time to leave the boredom of rural B.C., and headed to the concrete pastures of ‘the garden city’, Victoria B.C, where he planted some tenuous roots.
While attending film school, David discovered the sounds of artists like The Carter Family and Hank Williams. Hearing this music transformed him from a punker-than-thou Misfits aficionado to a writer of traditional country arrangements, and he began to focus his creative energy into the composure of sweeping death-ballads.
In late 2003, David released his debut album, entitled "Tonight I’ll Be Singing In The Devils Choir" with his merry band of degenerates The Lonesome Valley Singers. In the brief window of time since, David has completed a modest tour of Western Canada and opened for a plethora of well-known artists, including Smog, Elevator to Hell, and underground Canadian icon Dale Morningstar.
