Having only been performing live for 8 months, Sango has already played at Coachella 2013 and headlined shows all throughout North America, receivng props along the way from the likes of XLR8R, Vice/Noisey, Jay Z’s Life + Times and Drake’s OVO blog.
Hailing from Grand Rapids via Seattle, Kai Wright, also known as Sango has been causing ripples with his signature sound of slo-mo synths and immersive throbbing beats. Drawing influences from all eras of hip hop, neo soul and beyond, Sango is most known for his remixes of Aaliyah, Drake, Little Dragon, Nas and most prominently an entire EP remixing The Weeknd’s productions. Sango recently joined forces with Los Angeles record label Soulection, home to electronica titans like Ta-ku and Mr Carmack and is about to drop his debut LP North on July 23rd.
