Garden City Grooves is a grassroots community event spearheaded by local promoters and groove afficionados, Nathan Ambrose and Groovin’ Reuven Sussman. The aim of GCG is to celebrate groove in all of its many forms (soul, funk, afrobeat, world and latin). While other larger local festivals may include one or two acts from these genres in their line-up, GCG celebrates this music in all of its forms and aims to discover acts from right in our own backyard and from across Canada, the Pacific Northwest and even the world. Spread over two days, four venues and four events, expect harmonious horn sections, pulsating percussion, formidable funk and dynamic rhythms from all over the world.
