Event Description

On Saturday March 8, local music producer James Kasper will hold a 3-hour worskhop for the aspiring musician, titled "Introduction to the Music Business" at Fairfield Community Place (1330 Fairfield Road) in Victoria. The workshop is open to ages 16 to adult and topics will include promoting your music career on a small budget, building an effective and professional promotional kit, planning a recording, making your album release successful, and public and media relations.

Kasper is the founder and producer of the Vancouver Island Music Awards, which celebrates its 10th year March 22 in Victoria. He also directs the recently launched community record label Mighty Speck Records.

The March 8 workshop begins at 1:00pm and runs until 4:00pm. The cost is $35 per person.
