Event Description

Don't Repent. Just Rejoice.

We're setting the lights down low, closing the door and creating something magically sensuous!

T he recession is here. Everything is expensive. I'm running a pilot project with this class with a "pay what you can" model with a suggested price of $30.00. If $5 or $10 is the difference between you being able to come and dance with me or not, I'd like to remove that barrier. If you're in a position where you're able to pay a bit more, that extra fee will go toward subsidizing the cost of someone who may not be able to pay the suggested price. If I'm able to continue to cover my costs with this pricing model, I may also just switch to this going forward or do a mix of classes with this model to make it more accessible.

I am setting aside 3 last minute spaces in my classes that will be released the day of my workshops. As a fellow person with chronic illness, I understand that you can't plan flare ups or energy levels ahead of time, which also means that a lot of times we miss out on things we really want to do because they sell out. I'd also like to remove this as a barrier for attending my classes, so if you feel well enough to join me the day of class I would love to have you!

Rejoice in your gender expression.

Rejoice in your sensuality and sexuality.

Rejoice in your body as it is right now.

Rejoice in your queerness

Rejoice in unapologetically taking up space.

Rejoice in reclamation.

The best form of active protest is loving yourself for exactly who you are right now. In this moment.

Welcome to this series of pop-up movement workshops with the goal of creating a space for you to just be yourself and become grounded in your body through burlesque.

Wear whatever makes you feel fucking hot!

Class Structure:

1)Introduction - Warm-up, names and pronouns

2) Choreography

3) 15 minutes of time for those who want to record themselves and group photos (recording optional)
