Event Description

World class Cuban pianist Pablo Cardenas performs a tribute to the Jazz piano masters, many of whom became a huge influence to his playing and an obligated reference, like Oscar Perterson, Bill Evans, Bud Powell in the traditional Jazz, or Chick Corea and Chucho Valdez in the Jazz fusion and Latin Jazz world.

Pablo will be accompanied by a lineup of top class musicians and special guests. Music by Oscar Peterson, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Chucho Valdez and more.

Pablo Cardenas is a Cuban Jazz pianist, composer, arranger and music educator that studied classical performance at the Superior Institute of Arts in Havana, Cuba. His high academic preparation has allowed him to explore professionally many of the styles he has been influenced by, like Afro-Cuban Jazz, Fusion, Contemporary Jazz, Bebop, Blues, Classical, R & B, Latin music, World music and others. He have been performing internationally since early 2000s, and have been residing in Canada since 2011, where he created different music projects like The West Coast Cuban Orchestra, The Latin Jazz Combo, The Afro-Cuban ensemble, and his Modern Jazz Trio just to mention a few, performing at the most important venues and festivals and collaborating with some the most accomplished musicians. He has worked on keeping Cuban and Latin American folklore alive and developed the Latin music and dance scene in the area, and have kept offering his art to good causes at several events related to the defense of human rights and acceptance of diversities, like the 2019 “We Are One” edition where he performed as special guest.
