Saturday, July 29th IMU & CiTR 101.9FM present Shukov & Elias Double CD Release Party w/ In Media Res @ The BACKSTAGE LOUNGE, 1585 Johnston Street, Granville Island . 9pm / $10

SHUKOV - Join one of Vancouver's most promising new bands, Shukov as they bring their spacious, tension-filled, darkly ethereal art rock to enthusiastic audiences this special evening!

ELIAS delivers a stellar mix of dark, moody vocal melodies, original guitar riffs and haunting keyboards, "making the kind of pulsating, loud rock that the Mars Volta or Radiohead might approve of in equal turns" according to Spin.com, who recently ranked them as one of 8 must-hear bands from Vancouver.

IN MEDIAS RES - Incandescent indie rock played with the emotional intensity of a hard rock outfit, In Medias Res songs recall the stately beauty of Radiohead and Sigur Ros.
