The solo debut, The Gedi Night, is a cinematic, reflective album that begins in twilight love by the ocean and unfolds into a journey through chaos, mortality, and awakening—ultimately discovering that the only way beyond the cycles of the world is to open the doors of the heart. The recording captures an endearing, honest optimism, skillfully produced by Juno-award winner Steve Dawson, with Steve on guitars, with Justin Amaral on drums, and William Moore on bass.

Mat Geddes is a Canadian songwriter from Victoria, known for emotive vocals and lyrics delivered with clarity and intent. Built on rhythmic acoustic guitar and a natural sense of groove, his music draws from alt-folk, alt-country, rock, and roots influences, with themes unified by the human journey. His songs are designed for connection, stripped-back, vocal-forward, and grounded in feel – well-suited to listening rooms and intimate venues.
Mat is also the principal songwriter, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist for indie-rock band Door d’Or. Their album, The Exquisite Dream blends atmospheric guitars, post-punk textures, delivering an immersive sound.
