Aviv Talya Dekel is a 23 yr old local disabled Outsider/Folk Artist who lives on a farm in Brentwood Bay. She has Down Syndrome, diabetes type 1 and an unknown bone disease affecting her right side that has required a wrist fusion. She is a member of Victoria Arts Council and has shown and sold at Artsea Gallery, Coast Collective and VAC Shows. The City of Victoria purchased and displayed 3 of her works downtown as giant posters on Bus Shelters for one year. Aviv makes Colourful and Happy Needlepoint, Fibre Art, Mixed Media and Acrylic originals as well as greeting cards and magnets with photos of her work. She has done several commissions also. Her favorite subjects are Hearts, Flowers and Rainbows.... but she also enjoys creating colourful landscapes and animals. Aviv's desire is to help others to feel Happy through her Art.
